Strange Darling, il film diretto da JT Mollner, esplora il lato oscuro delle relazioni umane in un gioco mortale tra un killer e la sua vittima. Ambientato nella contea di Hood River in Oregon, il film racconta la storia di una donna e un uomo che si ritrovano coinvolti in una folle e pericolosa spirale di omicidi e manipolazioni psicologiche.
La Signora (Willa Fitzgerald) e il Demone (Kyle Gallner) dopo un incontro casuale, decidono di passare la notte in un motel, dove la donna, propone un gioco sadomasochistico in cui lui finge di essere un serial killer e lei la sua vittima. Ma ciò che sembra un semplice gioco di ruolo si trasforma presto in una danza mortale.
Nel corso della notte, la Signora rivela gradualmente il suo piano letale. Dopo aver sedato il Demone con una dose di ketamina, lo marchia con le sue iniziali. Tuttavia, quando scopre che il Demone è in realtà un agente di polizia sotto copertura, le carte in tavola cambiano…
